ABC greens under water

A reminder that it's the Picardy Bazooka Moths fundraising day on Sunday, 7 August.

AMANZIMTOTI Bowling Club, like many others in the area, was badly affected by the flashfloods at the end of July.

In fact all three greens were several inches deep in water for quite a while.

It took over a week to rehabilitate them, and as a result, all games for the week had to be postponed. The Port Natal seniors masters competition which was due to be played at Toti had to be relocated to Parkhill BC. Many thanks to the staff and members who helped to clear the clubhouse and greens of water, especially Peter Callaghan for his time and equipment which he donated so willingly.

Watch the notice board for new cardings, as competitions must be finalised by prize-giving on 10 September.

The attendance draw at TGIF was won by Alan Foster, so next week’s draw will be for R100. Pete Shepard won the 100 board and Dave Kemp had a chance to find the right key for the key game. Unfortunately he didn’t manage to do that, so the pot rises to R2,500 next time.

A reminder that it’s the Picardy Bazooka Moths fundraising day on Sunday, 7 August. This will be a tabs-in game. Bools Day, also for the Moths, will be on Saturday, 13 August. The Toti mixed fours festival is coming up on 27 and 28 August, so get your teams in for this great event.

Birthday greetings this week go to Vera Broskie, Jane Coetzee and Rob Troughton, and get-well wishes to all past and present members who are not well.
