Head for Winkle beach this Sunday

Nippers from the age of 6 to 13 years will be looked after by nipper officer Gary Barber and his experienced coaches.

THE lifesaving season has finally arrived after the winter period when all is quiet on the lifesaving front.

Duties on the long winter days are the main focus during this period and the Winklespruit Surf Lifesaving Club lifeguards have performed their duties very well.

This also brings with it the excitement of the Winklespruit SLC open day when anyone interested in learning about lifesaving is invited down to Winklespruit Beach to join in the fun. Nippers from the ages of six to 13 years will be looked after by nipper officer Gary Barber and his experienced coaches. Juniors and seniors from the age of 14 years will have a session with club captain Brendon Alberts and on the social side, treasurer Fran Techet will explain how people can enjoy relaxing in the entertainment area.

All this takes place this Sunday, 4 September from 8.30am at Winklespruit main beach and promises to be a real fun day with food and refreshments on sale at the clubhouse. This is an open invitation to all members of the public to go down and see what lifesaving is all about.

On a serious note, subscriptions are now due and all members are requested to arrange payment thereof as soon as possible.

See you on the beach.
