Cyclists ready to pedal Toti69er

PERFECT weather conditions have been predicted for the Hypersure Toti69er, Amanzimtoti Cycle Club’s road race which takes place this Sunday, 10 July.

It starts at 6.30am from Hutchison Park and the riders work their way to the R102, where they ride to Selborne and back.

Cyclists will be pedaling in both directions for most of the morning, so motorists must anticipate that their journey to and from church, the shops and the beach may be affected and more time should be allocated.

There is a distance to suit all ability levels. The main race is 94kms, but there are shorter distances of 69kms and 19kms. Mountain bikes are welcomed as are holidaymakers and locals. Online entries closed at midnight on 6 July but registration can still be done on the day between 5am and 6am.

The race will be timed by Finish Time. Only previous RaceTec timing chips will be recognised. Timing chips must be taken to registration for checking as no timing chips will be issued on race day. Riders in the 94km and 69km events who are not licenced must buy a day licence fee of R35 when they enter.

U14 and U12 riders must enter the 19km event to qualify for awards.

The 69km event and the 19km event (for age groups older than U14) are fun-rides and winners will qualify for vouchers. Prize winners must be present at prize-giving which is at 11am at Lords & Legends Sports Cafè, otherwise prize money is forfeited to the club.
