All welcome at family fun day trips

AN UNOFFICIAL pensioners league competition was played at Winklespruit Bowling Club on Tuesday, 17 May.

Overall winners were Adrian Morrison and Peter Snyman.

Runners-up were Coy Schrauwen and Mike Morris. Steve Evenwel won the 100 board.

Di Kruger won the attendance draw on Friday evening. The Friday evening meal on 20 May was a great success. The club expresses its sincere appreciation to Clasina Powell and Elmarie Young for the delicious meal and pudding. There was more than enough food and pudding for each person to have a generous helping. Bacon and egg rolls will be available this coming Friday evening.

The Clearwater Spur mixed 2-4-2 was played on Saturday, 21 May and overall winners were Brian Bodley and Elaine Critchlow. Errol and Sharon Ann Theron were the winners of the second session. Piet Barnard won the 100 board.

A trips family fun day competition will be played on Sunday, 29 May and will not be the normal format but will be more casual. It will be a mixed (man/woman) competition for bowlers and non-bowlers. Dress will be casual wear (mufti) with flat soled shoes. Prizes will be awarded to the overall and second session winners. There will be a bring and braai after the game. Pap and gravy will be provided. Cost per player will be R20 which includes pap and gravy, and R10 for non-players which includes tea/coffee, pap and gravy.

There will be social bowls on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, but take note of the winter starting time for these social sessions which start at 1.45pm for 2pm.

Members must take note of club competitions on the competition board.

Congratulations to everyone celebrating their birthdays during the week and a speedy recovery to all those who are not well. Members’ prayers and thoughts are with everyone is unwell.
