BECAUSE of the heat, the women’s monthly 2-4-2 competition at Toti Bowling Club was changed to an enjoyable two-bowl pairs game.

Winners were Barbara Beamson and Nicky Stirzaker; runners- up were Lulu Bingham and Maureen Griffin and the second session was won by Sue Welsh and Jeanette Els.

Jacqui Fouché won the 100 board. Lys McDonald won the 100 board at TGIF. In the members’ draw, social member Frank Jeans’ number was drawn, however he was not present so next week’s prize is worth R350. In Willie McCamlie’s absence, Heather Brown drew and tried his key in the lock, but sadly she had no luck for him. Next week’s lucky key will be worth R5,450.

Congratulations to Leon van Rensburg and Wessie van der Westhuizen who have gone through to the third round of the Port Natal novice singles. Good bowling to the club’s women novices, Talla and Lesley Stephens-Viviers, Gaynor Snyman and Karen Shepherd who play their first round on Saturday, 16 January.

Well done to Jeanne Alexander, Lynn Joubert and Lesley Stephens-Viviers who beat Robyn Hutton, Jeanette Els and Margaret van Belkum in the drawn trips and now go through to the semi-finals.
