Wipe-out at 35kph costs Toti cyclist her race

The rest of the Toti roadies did some training rides on the weekend with rides to Scottburgh on Saturday and a ride into Suncoast Casino and back on Sunday.

QUITE a few Toti cyclists took on the daunting Momentum 94.7 road race in Johannesburg on Sunday, 15 November.

From all accounts it was very hot and windy, which did not make for an easy Sunday ride, but to those who finished, very well done.

There was one not-so-happy Toti cyclist, Eleonore Tesnaar, who happened to come crashing down at 35kph, which has battered and bruised her, but luckily no broken bones. The up side to this is, with Eleonore covered in so much mercurochrome, everyone stood aside at the airport on her way home, so that she did not have to stand waiting in any queues. Get well soon Eleonore.

With a few flats along the way, Rienie Beneke was not able to do the time she was aiming for, but there is always next year, Rienie. Well done to everyone that braved the elements and altitude.

Toti cyclists’ Momentum 94.7km results: Brennan Anderson 2.29.39, Wihelm Tesnaar 2.55.33, Cindy Theunissen 2.56.40, Tommy Maritz 3.21.32, Rienie Beneke 3.37.56, Hannes Beneke 3.45.25, Hennie Nell 5.23.13, Carol Raasch 5.45.41.

The rest of the Toti roadies did some training rides on the weekend with rides to Scottburgh on Saturday and a ride into Suncoast Casino and back on Sunday.

The Toti mountain bikers enjoyed rides at Rocky Bay and to the back of Illovo on the weekend, as there were no races to speak of for them.
