FUSION Rhythmic gymnasts competed in and performed well in two recent competitions and are now working hard towards the KZN regional competition on Saturday, 5 September.
Level six and eight participants will compete to qualify for the national competition in Johannesburg in October.
At the South African Gymnastics Federation coastal competition the results were impressive. In the level two U10 category Kayla Steyn earned gold and Amahle Dlamini won bronze.
In level 2 U11 Zoe Praschma won gold. Kayla, Amahle and Zoe also won a trophy for the team competition.
In level two O11 Lulu Kweyama scooped gold.
In level three U10 Lanesca Esterhuizen earned silver and in level three O11 Danielle Rossouw won silver.
In level six U15 Kelly Lightfoot won a silver medal. In level six O15 Amarah Hoosain won bronze. Kelly and Amarah were also awarded a team trophy.
More medals followed in the Ocean Rhythmic gymnastics Invitational competition.
In level one U7 Abby Allen placed first, Oratile Moumakwa second, Hannah Hall third. Emma Frank received a participation medal.
In level one U8 Jessica McCalgen placed first. Wandile Ngcobo, Mia Pletinkx, Awande Ngcobo and Erin McCalgen received participation medals.
In level one U9 Raeann Laubscher and Silke Bester both received participation medals.
In Level one U10 Keisha Ramiah placed third overall.
In level one over 11 Mia de Beer placed first overall. In level two U9 Danielle Smal received a participation medal.
In level two U10 Kayla Steyn placed first.
In level three U10 Lanesca Esterhuizen was first overall.
In level three O11 Danielle Rossouw placed third and Lulu Kweyama received a participation medal
In level six U15 Kelly Lightfoot placed first and in level seven O15 Zas Mkhize scooped the top spot.
In level eight O15 Samara Lutchman received a participation medal.
