Toti AC hits the trail

Toti AC will be taking a bus to Mtunzini bush challenge.

ON Sunday a large group of Toti Athletics Club members made a trip to Rocky Bay to enjoy a morning on the trails.

Just on Toti’s doorstep, Rocky Bay offers trail runners a great route with a well-maintained trail giving the runners some open gravel roads, single track and a trip through some wonderful forest.

Some of the members were lucky enough to see duiker and baby bush pig on the trail.

True to trail running, there are always a few members who make contact with mother nature. Martyn Clark and Tyrone hit the dirt – luckily with no broken bones, just some shattered pride.

The members then enjoyed a great breakfast and social after the trail run

Rocky Bay trails are offering night trail run on 24 July. Take a headlight and your own hydration pack. The club will be supporting the night trail run.

The secretary will email 2016 Comrades programmes to the members, compiled by coach Lindsey Perry.

Once again the safety aspect of running is in the spotlight. Make sure you run in a group, be visible wear reflector belts or safety lights.

Toti AC will be taking a bus to the Mtunzini Bush Challenge. The bus will leave on Saturday, 8 August, for runners to camp over the Saturday and Sunday and return on Monday, 10 August. There is limited space, so call Chris or Belinda to book a space.

A reminder that the 10km club champs will be the Merewent 10km event on 16 August, a nice flat and fast route.
