Tee off on twoball golf day

On Wednesday 29 players participated in the midweek individual stableford points competition with C Scorer winning on 43 points with Tommy McNaughton counting out M Rumbelow into third place with 36 points.

AMANZIMTOTI Golf Club will host a golf day on Monday, 10 August.

This is a twoball betterball competition, tee times are from 8am off both tees and the cost is R200 including lunch.

Tuesday brought some welcomed rain which the course soaked up gratefully. The players certainly didn’t get the run that they have been getting these last few weeks.

On Wednesday, 29 players participated in the midweek individual stableford points competition with C Scorer winning on 43 points with Tommy McNaughton counting out M Rumbelow into third place with 36 points.

Friday’s nine hole sundowner competition had Sagren Chetty winning on 19 points counting out P Fowler also on 19 points into second place.

On Saturday the men played a fourball alliance in magnificent coastal winter weather. Winning the day on 95 points was the team of W Boucher, E Benjamin, M McGregor and J van der Spuy with I Bender, D Kerrigan, B Newton and D Stentiford coming second on 94 points, winning the count out into third with 62 points was C Fryer, B Stewart, N Dupont and R Kruger. The nearest the pin on the seventh was achieved by I Corr with B Williamson on the 17th.

The women played the second round of the Walter Bruyn Trophy, a 36 hole medal competition. Winning with 143 nett was Sue Boucher with Sue Daniels the runner-up on 153 nett. The women who didn’t take part in the trophy event played individual stableford, with Lynette Roodt coming first on 35 points counting out Gerda Heydenrych into second place. Jacqui Porrill was nearest the pin on the seventh, with Brenda Morgan achieving a two club on the 15th.

Toti’s league teams are in action this weekend with the A side playing at home, so go down to the club to support. Good luck to all the players, may your ball fly straight and your putts drop.
