Strong win for Dave in handicap game

In the Kwikspar mixed 2-4-2, the winners were Trevor Dempsey and Val de Kok.

IN the women’s senior singles at Toti Bowling Club, Doreen Salmond beat Marion Crouch.

In a close match in the men’s open singles, William Sithole defeated Mike Pitchers after 24 ends; and Lofty van Tonder had a good win against Trevor Zulch.

Dave McMillan managed to defeat Peter Snyman in the men’s handicap singles after nine ends. Well done.

Men’s novice singles is played in a round robin format. Shawn Sutherland won his game against Hermann van Zyl by a good margin and Peter Snyman also beat Herman. Then in a close encounter, Martin Birch overcame Leon van Rensburg in the 23rd end by three shots.

At TGIF, Mike Roberts won the 100 board; and in the members’ draw, social member Ron Campbell’s tab 35 was drawn. However as he was not present, next week’s prize is worth R550. Kathy Cox’s number was drawn for the key draw, but as she failed to pick the winning key, next week’s draw will be worth R2,380.

The first session was won by Dave McMillan and Lesley Stephens-Viviers; and the second session went to Coy Schrauwen and Bobby Stewart on a count-out. George Taylor won the lucky draw. Thanks to Allan and Denise Hawkins for the prizes and complimentary drinks.

In the women’s mutton, Julie Sutherland, Nita Meumann, Amanda Ninow and Karen Shepherd walked away with the first prize, while runners-up were Pam Chalder-Royle, Jenny Delport, Val de Kok and Jackie Holdrick. The first session went to Noreen Butler, Michelle Pitchers, Gladys Hughes and Marilyn Thiart; and the second session was won by Marion Crouch, Doreen Salmond, Adrienne Robbins and Leigh Callaghan.

The winners of the men’s mutton were Clive Hambley, Duncan Wright, Doug Walton and Trevor Zulch; and in second place were Glen Scorgie, Mark Brodie, Dave McMillan and Les Brown. First session winners were Lofty van Tonder, Peter Callaghan, Colin Coetzee and Mickey Roche; while the second session went to Neil Oberholzer, Andrew Pearce, Barry Buckland and Ben Venter.

Get well wishes to all who are sick, especially to Babs Swart who is still in hospital, and to Barbara Beamson who is wished well for her knee op.
