Winkle BC men’s inter-club team show winning spirit

THE Winklespruit Bowling Club championship play-offs are progressing well with a few interesting results.
In the women’s singles, Elmarie Young managed to clinch a win over Trish Farmer.
In the mixed nominated pairs Andre Gelderblom and Norma Raath won Bill Rawlinson and Susan Erasmus. Harry and Lynette van Vuuren had a nail-biting win against Steve Evenwel and Maureen Griffin. In the women’s trips the trio of Charlotte Kohl, Maureen Griffin and Lynette van Vuuren achieved a win against Lulu Bingham, Cathy du Plooy and Linda Hobbs.
On Friday, 19 June the social bowls were well supported. Boerie rolls were enjoyed by all after the game. The whiskey draw was won by Wessie van der Westhuizen and the Amarula draw was won by Colin Coetzee.
The men’s inter-club league competition came to an end on Saturday, 20 June. The WBC men’s team achieved mixed results against Lahee BC. Congratulations to the team of Andre Gelderblom, Brian Pasfield, Harry van Vuuren and Allan Duncan who won their game and displayed an unquenchable winning spirit.
On Saturday, 20 June the monthly Clearwater Spur mixed 2-4-2 was played. Second session winners were Paul and Jeanette Els. Overall winners were the unbeatable team of Bill Rawlinson and Charlotte Kohl.

Thursday, 2 July – Kwik Spar women’s trips. Saturday, 4 July – monthly Scroungers. Indicate your availability on the players list posted up on the notice board.
