League tennis set to swing into high gear

WEDNESDAY mornings are available again for social tennis at Amanzimtoti Tennis Club.

Saturday social tennis continues with enthusiasm among players.

Men’s and women’s Saturday league is due to commence at the end of July. One men’s and one women’s team have been entered. Two teams have been entered for the midweek women’s doubles commencing 22 July. Confirmation of fixtures will be posted on the notice board as soon as they are received from ETA.

The AGM took place on Saturday, 13 June at 3.30pm and was well attended. The committee for the next 12 months is: Chairman Alan Coetzer; secretary Carol-ann Renwick; treasurer Leigh Callaghan; match secretary Joan Grossett; ordinary members Laurence Kemp, Lynne Jack, Mary Chowles and Chantelle Venter.

The club looks forward to another successful year.

The development clinics for primary school children and older are held on Saturday mornings from 9am to 10am during school terms. If your child is interested in learning more about the game of tennis, take them down to Toti Tennis Club at Hutchison Park. There are some tennis racquets on loan for the hour. Ideally they should also wear sports shoes. Add your name and contact numbers to the notice on the notice board if you are willing to give an hour of your time on Saturday mornings.
