Bowlers to play catch-up on inter-club compos

Birthday wishes goes to everyone who celebrated their birthdays during the week.

PROGRESS with the inter-club competitions is advancing very slowly at Winklespruit Bowling Club, so members are urged to use the holidays to book and play some competitions.

The club wants to complete the singles before the end of April.

On Thursday, 26 March the monthly nominated men’s 2-4-2 were played. The Toti team of Les John and Ken Baker were victorious and won the overall prize. Second session winners were Bill Rawlinson and Colin Coetzee. The 100 board draw was won by Duncan Wright. Social bowls on Friday, 27 March was enjoyed by all and the day ended with the Friday night dinner. Eddie Bingham walked away with the attendance draw.

On Saturday, 28 March the monthly car boot sale was well supported. All the boerie rolls and pancakes were sold. This event is becoming more popular every month. The next car boot sale will be on 25 April at 8am.

The first Port Natal men’s league division four competitions took place at Winklespruit Bowling Club on Saturday, 28 March against Westville B. Andre Gelderblom’s team with Alan Raubenheimer, Martin Young and Aubrey Toy won their game. The team of Mike Kruger, Mac Mackrory, Bill Hobbs and Harry van Vuuren narrowly lost their game. Thanks to all the Winkle supporters. Good luck with the next game on 11 April against Sherwood A.

Diarise the following: Friday, 3 April social bowls at 2.30pm. Saturday, 4 April Scroungers at 9am. Social bowls at 2pm. Tuesday, 7 April pensioners league at Woodlands. Wednesday, 8 April Kwik Spar women’s trips at 9am. Saturday, 11 April social bowls at 2pm.

Birthday wishes goes to everyone who celebrated their birthdays during the week. Members who are ill are wished a speedy recovery. The club’s thoughts and prayers are with them.
