Winkle bowlers clean up in men’s 2-4-2 prize stakes
The next car boot sale will take place on Saturday, 28 February.
ON Thursday, 29 January, rain did not prevent a well-supported men’s nominated 2-4-2 competition from taking place. Winklespruit Bowling Club players walked away with all the prizes.
Alan Duncan and Brian Bodley won second session.
Overall winners were the team of Martin Young and the ever eager Eddy Bingham. The 100 board draw was won by Brad Cox. The car boot sale which took place on Saturday, 31 January exceeded expectations. The next car boot sale will take place on Saturday, 28 February. On Saturday, 31 January the Port Natal novice championship round four and quarter finals took place at Durban Bowling Club. Unfortunately Dries Snyman and Harry van Vuuren fell out in round four, but Lynette van Vuuren went through to the quarter final which she narrowly lost. Members of the Winklespruit Supporters Club were the most enthusiastic and had the biggest turn-out to support their players. Well done and a huge thank you for your support.

Indicate your availability on the player’s list which is on the notice board. There will also be social bowls at 2pm for those not playing scroungers. This is followed on Thursday, 12 February by men’s nominated trips. Contact Harry van Vuuren. On Friday, 13 February it’s the Umkomaas mixed 2-4-2 at 9am. Call Mari Erikson on 039-973-0546. Saturday, 14 February there is a Valentine’s Day 2-4-2 with lots of prizes to be won. Put your name on the player’s list on the notice board. A bring and braai will be held after the competition. Sunday, 15 February is Port Natal trips. Don’t forget to schedule your 2015 inter-club competitions. Let’s get the bowls rolling and the score cards ticking.
