RWFL ups the pace at weekend races

Next week Saturday, 7 February the club will be taking some of its novice joggers and walkers to participate in the Park Run at Sun Coast Casino on the Durban promenade.

A COOL and wet morning greeted runners and walkers from Amanzimtoti Run Walk For Life (RWFL) at the Sparkport 32km and 16km challenge.

The good running conditions ensured a comfortable race for all who participated and it was a nice change from the very hot and humid weather that athletes have been competing in recently.

Fastest RWFL man home was Shaun Finn who covered 32km in 2.40. Next in was Warren Gibson in 2.45 and Peter Moodley came home with 3.55. In the 16km race Maweza Msane came in with a great time of 1.39, Matthys Nawrattel walked it in 2.06 and Tanya Gibson jogged in with 2.25. Well done to all.

That same afternoon some RWFL runners and walkers took part in the club’s monthly afternoon run over 13kms, again in wet and cool conditions. Warren Gibson, road, captain took charge and all the runners and walkers enjoyed themselves. On Saturday, 7 February the club will take some of its novice joggers and walkers to participate in the Park Run at Suncoast Casino on Durban’s promenade. This will be followed by a cup of coffee and breakfast.
