Hikers venture into farmlands this weekend

Meet at Remo's Spar in Mount Edgecombe in Flanders Drive at 1.45pm.

DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club hikes through the rolling hills of Mt Edgecombe this weekend.

On Saturday, 25 October, hike leader Jon will lead hikers around Marshall Dam and through the area’s hills in a hike that is graded three or strenuous.

Meet at Remo’s Spar in Mount Edgecombe in Flanders Drive at 1.45pm.

On Sunday, 26 October, hikers will venture to Salimba Farm in Richmond.

Meet at Union Main Centre, Old Main Road, Pinetown in time for a prompt 7.30am departure. Suggested petrol-sharing is R70 per person. The hike follows a lengthy drive, but a beautiful circular route up and down rolling hills, through a bit of forest and across lush grasslands. Hikers will be blessed with stunning views over the Umkomaas River and possible sightings of game.

The hike covers a distance of about 18km and is graded three or strenuous.
