Masters squash a smashing success

Club chairman Neil Carroll and club secretary Chrisine Carroll are to be congratulated and thanked for all their hard work

LAST weekend Toti Squash Club hosted the 2014 annual over 35 masters squash tournament which took place on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

The country`s top squash players from as far afield as Free State, SA country districts, Northern Transvaal, Natal Midlands, Gauteng, Natal A and Natal B and Border were in action for all four days.

The club was very busy with full catering facilities, and all four courts were fully occupied every day, with some outstanding squash on display.

It was also very gratifying to hear accolades from all participants, who were unanimous in their opinions that the whole event was extremely well organised, the Toti hosts made everyone feel very much at home.

The three Toti players representing Natal B were Hein Koen, Japie Matthyssen and Eugene Venter. They all did did extremely well for their team in their individual games, and full details and match results will be in next week`s paper.

There was a lot of general support from the public and other squash club members, and it was a memorable occasion. Club chairman Neil Carroll and club secretary Christine Carroll are to be congratulated and thanked for all their hard work, and specific mention must be made of all the other volunteer assistants who helped serve food and drinks, keep scores and assist where necessary. All deserve a hearty thanks, as without this superb team effort, Toti Squash would not have been able to be so proud of a really excellent event.
