Winkle BC prize winners named

The nominated women pairs 2-4-2 was won by Estelle van der Merwe and Gladys Yelland.

AT Winklespruit Bowling Club, the weather has been kind to bowlers and all the competitions were played as planned.

On Thursday, 4 September the women’s Victory KwikSpar trips were played.

The overall winners were Yvonne Wright, Cathy Harding and Stella Erasmus who also won the mystery prize.

Congratulations to Heather Brown, Jackie Holdrick and Linda McGregor and Elmarie Young, Maureen Freeman and Marina Clark on winning the first and second session respectively. Yvonne Wright won the spider and the 100 board draw was won by Jeanette Els.

Some annual club competitions were finalised during the week. The nominated women pairs 2-4-2 was won by Estelle van der Merwe and Gladys Yelland. The weekly attendance draw was won by Cathy du Plooy and the Wheel of Fortune is a carry over.

The annual prize-giving was held on Saturday, 6 September and congratulations to all the winners, especially to Mike Kruger who won the men’s singles championship and Gladys Yelland who won the women’s singles championship. Charlotte Kohl won the most improved player award.

The Umkomaas sevens competition was held on Saturday, 6 September and Sunday, 7 September. The women’s team consisting of Lulu Bingham, Mardi Dovale and Lynette van Vuuren won one of their four games. The men’s team consisting of Eddy Bingham, Harry van Vuuren, Des Robarts and Derick Stevens won three out of four games.
