Toti golf course shines with clubhouse revamp

in the other league team games are urged to come on down to the course and show support for our guys.

THE renovations of the Toti Golf Club house are in full swing, and the building is starting to look really good.

The pro shop has erected a new cart storage structure which adds a definite air of professionalism to the whole setup.

The planned extension to the parking area should begin soon, and that means more parking for members, which will be very welcome. Work in the pub is ongoing, and that is going to make a huge difference.

So, with the clubhouse flourishing and good vibes in the air, hopefully the Premier men’s league team will take full advantage of playing their next fixture at home this coming Sunday. They take on Royal Durban, and members not involved in the other league team games are urged to go on down to the course and show support for the guys.

The B side travel to Maritzburg to challenge the Bluff boys, and Toti’s Allerton side will do battle with Umhlali at Durban Country Club. Good luck to all the teams.

Last Wednesday’s IPS competition attracted a small field of 24 players, with Hannes Beneke taking top spot on 41 points, followed by Martin Tait on 40. Friday’s nine hole sundowner was well-supported with 40 players taking part. Sagren Chetty blew the field away with an amazing 23 points off the nine holes, followed by Piet Roode on 22, Wik van Wyk on 21, and Vishnu Kistasamy on 20 points.

On Saturday the women played a 4BBB, with Liz Donald and Colleen Smit taking the honours with 44 points, closely trailed by Lynette Roodt and Thanda Zama on 43 points. The nearest the pin went to Delene Berry on the seventh hole.

The men played a fourball alliance, two scores to count on all holes excepting the shorts, where all four scores counted. Taking home the main prize on 105 points was the team of Bruce Whiting, Mike Igesund, Clive Hill and visitor Gary van der Spuy. In second place by virtue of a count out was the team of Hu Turnbull, Nic Brits, Mike Halse and Wade Burgess, with 104 points. The nearest the pin on the 17th went to Mark Cowie, and the jackpot was not won so it carries over to this coming Saturday.

Toti welcomes all visitors to the area to enjoy a game on its beautiful golf course. Contact the pro shop on 031-902-1166 to book a tee off time.
