Durban South schools to compete in the Spar KZN regional hockey tournament this weekend.

A total of 10 schools will participate in the Durban South regional at the Three Schools Trust in Glenwood on Saturday morning, 15 March. Defending champions, Durban Girls’ High School will be back to defend their title under the guidance of Olympic hockey player, Lenise Marais.

The schools that will participate in the Durban South regional are Kingsway High, defending champs, Durban Girls High, New Forest, Durban Academy, Grosvenor Girls High, Werda, Kuswag Hoer Skool, Amanzimtoti High, Queensburgh Girls High and Brettonwood High.

With half of the regionals wrapped up, this weekend sees three more regionals being played. On Sunday, the South Coast schools take to the field.

Spar KZN’s MD, Rob Philipson said: “We are delighted with how this tournament has taken off. Now in its fourth year, this tournament is firmly entrenched in the school sports calendar. The girls eagerly participate in the regionals which are fun-filled events, both on the field and off.”

The finals will take place at Thomas More College and St Mary’s DSG on 26 and 27 July.
