Squash summer league set to kick off

TOTI squash will again be holding its most important, most enjoyable summer league at the club, starting on Thursday, 6 February.

An important aspect to note is that this is purely a social league, and the emphasis is therefore mainly on having fun on the court, meeting and playing against other people of your approximate strength, who you normally would not get a game against.

For the winter league people, it is also ideal to use this league as practise, fitness, and for general game time.

Non-members are all very welcome to enter, and the club encourages all members to get your spouse, siblings, children, boss, friends and so on to enter.

To enhance the spirit of the game, and to get everyone down to the club on the same evening, all this year`s games will only be played on Thursdays from 5pm. Note that all four courts will therfore be booked up each Thursday from that time.

Also note that every Thursday there will be a braai at the club, during and after the games, and the club`s usual excellent braai packs will be on sale. All are urged to support this activity.

This is a good opportunity for newcomers to get to know this wonderful game, you will be entered into a team, and will play every Thursday against your opponent in all the other teams, of which there will probably be six or seven.

For a mere R50 for the duration of the league, make a point of entering soon, so that teams and fixtures can be finalised.
