WELL done to all Amanzimtoti Bowling Club’s men and women who took part in the KZN singles tournament this weekend, they acquitted themselves well.

Special mention goes to Doug Joubert who got to the last 16, where unfortunately he was drawn against another Toti player, Greg McLeod who won through. Well done to Denis Roelofsz who made it to the quarter finals.

Congratulations to Greg who went all the way to the final, where he sadly lost to Clinton Inglis.

In the men’s 2-4-2, the winners were William Sithole and Gerald Chalder-Royle. The runners-up were Mickey Roche and Rob McDuling, while the first session went to Das Veldsman and Herbert Hoffman and the second session to Lofty van Tonder and Ian Crouch. The peanuts went to Dennie and Ken, and Owen Turner won the 100 board.

At TGIF the meat was won by Ingrid, and the wine by Robyn Hutton and Denis Roelofsz. T Daniel, tab 46 was not present for the attendance draw so next week’s draw will be worth R250.

In the big chicks the winners were Adie, Trevor, Neil and Val. In second place were Tony Cam, Shane, Denise and Ben. Third were Nan, Lourens, Alec and Jackie. Heather, Ian, Bobby and Lys won the first session, and Herbert, Keith, Ken and Amanda took the second session. Most bowls went to Captain Morgan, Colin, Jane and Mick.

Remember it is a mixed 2-4-2 on Friday at 1pm. Note there will be no scroungers until further notice. Good bowling to all our men taking part in the novice singles on Sunday. Markers are needed for the Air Force tournament next week, Monday to Thursday. Contact Liz if you can help.

Many happy returns this week to Andrew Walker, Mickey Roche, Michael Burns, Annatjie Boag, Cliffie Hole, Lee Madson and Johnny de Witt. A return to good health is wished to all members who are sick.
