Urgent repairs needed in Adams Road

Do we have to wait for someone to have a serious accident there?

EDITOR – I applaud the civic responsibility shown by the author of the letter headline ‘Magistrates court deserves respect’, which was published in the Sun dated 1 February.

May I ask for our local municipality to look to effect urgent repairs in Adams Road?

The small bridge below Villa Venita was damaged by the storm and subsequent floods of October 2017. A veritable forest is growing there, the armco barrier has disappeared and the edge of the road is eroding. Do we have to wait for someone to have a serious accident there?

In addition, the pavement from there up to the junction with Old Main Road has many deep holes and although hazard tape is (fairly) often present, the actual problems are not resolved. People walking up and down Adams Road must take extra care.

I am using the ‘old’ names as the signage is missing or painted over.

However, the N2 direction board uses ‘Adams Road’ so that is how I guide visitors.
