Today I would like to share some creatures with you that most of us love to hate. But believe it or not even flies were created by God with a plan and a purpose. That plan and purpose is usually to clean up after other messy creatures such as ourselves.
But flies are also a valuable part of the food chain, often being predated upon by birds and other carnivorous insects such as Prey Mantis. These little things can even be used by forensic scientists to help determine how long body has been dead. By checking how well developed the maggots are that are found on the crime scene, they can determine how long ago it happened.
Flies taste smell and feel through the fine hairs located all over their bodies. The hairs on a flies feet and mouth parts are used for tasting, so as a fly lands on something it can immediately taste it and if that tastes good, they then proceed to extend their mouth parts downward to have a feast.
Due to flies having a nasty habit of feeding on feces and other decaying matter, they are also unfortunately attributed to transmitting various deceases such as dysentery, typhoid fever and cholera. So it’s not a great idea to allow them to snack off of your food before you eat it.
