Conman abuses ‘window’ of opportunity

EDITOR – I recently had Telkom supply me with an internet connection.

Last week I received a call on my landline from Microsoft Windows saying they were having problems with the Windows on my computer.

A man insisted he was trying to help me. He told me to switch on my computer and press the Windows key and R, to offer the download system. I did this and was told to download using a key number, but as I was on my cell and the battery was running low, I asked him to call me later.

In the meantime my wife got on to Google and found that Microsoft warned this is a scam to get all the information from my computer. The next time this man called (his number is +2751227953), I told him I knew it was a scam but he immediately rang off. Be aware of this scam – they will get you to download all of the information on your computer.
