Twini Hill: Don’t use incompetence as yardstick

If a driver cannot negotiate Twini Hill safely in both directions at 120km/h, then it is the driver that has the problem.

EDITOR – With regards to the petition to reduce the speed limit on Twini Hill, I have gone up and down that hill several thousand times and there is nothing wrong with that road.

I have also noticed a steady decline in the standards of driving.

If a driver cannot negotiate Twini Hill safely in both directions at 120km/h, then it is the driver that has the problem. If you are unable to travel at 120km/h safely on our roads then you are incompetent and you need to get professional help.

We will not improve matters by dragging everyone down to a lesser level of competence, as this will only exascerbate the problem.

Skilled people do not become skilled by refusing to practise the skills they need.
