EDITOR – We wish to thank all those who assisted at the wash-away outside Lagoon Point last night.
The main water pipe and the storm water pipe both burst, causing a massive washaway of the embankment into the road below, just before the Toti River bridge.
Trees fell, the concrete pathway fell and soil washed away, undermining our boundary wall. The prompt reaction from the following people averted further destruction and saved our complex from what could have been disastrous.
- Ward councillor Andre Beetge for his response and actions in contacting the right people.
- The fire department who came out and assisted.
- The water department who worked through the night to stop the flow and connected a temporary inlet so we all had water this morning.
