President Henry?

Who knows, we might have our own 'Henry' or even 'Bob' in the future, though I suppose many will debate that ole crocs lack wisdom.

EDITOR – In response to last week’s article headed ‘Henry celebrates 115th birthday‘ about the croc in captivity on the South Coast, I immediately sensed the author was writing about a South African president but for the life of me I could not recall his name.

I mean with words like scandal, capture, babies, wild ways, living a life of luxury, chilling and wives, most South Africans are all too familiar with journalists trying to tarnish our presidents over the past 21 years, so I would like to thank the person who highlighted Henry’s milestone of 115 years. Moreso with the photo, because it certainly cleared up my immediate and admittedly predictive thoughts, but I am sure I was not alone spotting the parallel.

I wonder how many tax-paying citizens would respond negatively, especially if I asked all the locals to pray for our current president and those securing the ‘hotseat’ in years to come that they may live to the ripe old age of 115 years, or even beyond. Who knows, we might have our own ‘Henry’ or even ‘Bob’ in the future, though I suppose many will debate that ole crocs lack wisdom.
