EDITOR – I was utterly shocked to see the response from Councillor Beetge regarding Roy Palframan’s letter to him where Mr Beetge admits that this type of illegal living in Marshall Road, Athlone Park is acceptable and that we must all just accept this type of illegal occupation of a property which has no water, lights, windows, doors, is overgrown with weeds and mosquito riddled.
This is clearly a health hazard which there is comprehensive legislation against.
What astounds me is how the political party he represents, appoints someone who has no idea what he is doing.
How is a candidate in our area chosen for our political party? Is he drawn out of a hat, spin the bottle, or by the game of sudden death called ‘ching chong cha’. This town will really die if this type of response by our representative is accepted now and in the future.
Our town deserves better.
