Run around to register car

Later, I got a call from the officer that the stolen car is a blue Tazz, mine is red.

EDITOR – I bought a Toyota Tazz from my brother-in-law four years ago.

On Wednesday, I took it to the licensing office to register it in my name and the system flagged it as a stolen car on 18 September 2014.

But this car was not stolen, I drive it every day. I have the logbook with me, so I took it to Isipingo SAPS for police clearance. I did that and the micro dot check, the system still showed it’s a ‘hot car’

I went to the Gale Street office, where the warrant officer who is working on this theft put my car’s details in the system, showing it was hijacked in Berea Road.

Later, I got a call from the officer that the stolen car is a blue Tazz, mine is red. The blue Tazz belongs to a taxi owner, which they have not found as yet, but whoever is driving the car is using my number plates. My point is why did the warrant officer not arrest this guy, so my car can be cleared from the system, so I can go on to register my car. What’s the delay?
