Isipingo Primary shines at elocution contest

Three learners from Isipingo Primary School obtained places at the inter-school elocution contest by showing off their various oratory skills.

ISIPINGO Primary School excelled at the inter-school elocution contest held at Gokul Primary School on August 14, where they secured second place overall among 10 participating schools.

The contest, which is a showcase of oratory skills, saw one learner from each various grade compete. The Grade R and One learners recited poems, Grade 2 learners read from a given text and Grade 3 learners delivered speeches.

Grade Three teacher and elocution coordinator, Salo Chengladevar, expressed pride in the four learners’ performances. “The competition was stiff, and our learners gave an excellent account of themselves,” she said.

The school congratulated the three learners that placed: Makanaka Chipfurutse (Grade R) came second, Lubanzi Shabalala (Grade One) came third and Khethokule Gwala (Grade Three) came second.

These learners will now advance to the inter-regional competition where they will represent the Isipingo region.
