LOVE Toti led a community clean-up effort at the small park on the corner of Grants and Beach roads in Amanzimtoti on November 2.
Love Toti’s media liaison spokesman Peter Warner said the clean-up significantly enhanced the area surrounding the beautiful milkwood tree in the centre of the park.

“Fifteen volunteers from Love Toti, Toti Conservancy, eThekwini Municipality’s Parks Department and passersby brought spades, forks, rakes and cutters. Seabreeze Hardware sponsored gloves, we provided drinking water and the municipality also provided gloves, rubbish bags and also took away the building rubble, weeds, invasive plants and about 75 bags of rubbish that was collected,” he said.
Love Toti, a new initiative for Amanzimtoti, is part of the highly successful Love Cities movement that was started in Howick and aims to uplift towns across South Africa.
“We hope to work with all the non-government organisations that are doing amazing work in Toti,” said Warner.
The next community event will be on November 16 at 07:00, when Love Toti and its supporters will return to the park to plant new vegetation.
