Water interruptions to Amanzimtoti and surrounds

Residents in some areas in Amanzimtoti are affected by the water interruptions. It is unclear when water will be restored.

WATER supply has been interrupted in the South due to the South Coast Augmentation (SCA) pump station being switched off during the night (October 7) to necessitate repairs.

Ward 97 councillor André Beetge said that bulk infrastructure teams completed emergency repairs on a severe leak along the SCA steel trunk main in the vicinity of Ezimbokodweni early this morning (October 8).

“This necessitated switching off the SCA pump station that includes supply to the Amanzimtoti system,” he said.

Teams will be attending throughout the day to recover and monitor the system.
