Heart and talent shine on rugby field

Amanzimtoti Youth Rugby Club's teams have played all their games of the season with sheer grit and determination.

AN action-packed day of rugby on September 8 marked a positive day for most of Amanzimtoti Youth Rugby Club’s teams.

With four wins and two losses, the club’s chairperson, Anton Labuschagne, gave a shoutout to the incredible players because whether they win or lose, their efforts have been nothing short of amazing.

“Our fellow clubs can’t stop talking about the talent and big hearts they all bring to the game. Whether big or small, their passion for playing shines through,” he said, adding that they did face a serious injury where one player dislocated his knee.

Labuschagne expressed gratitude to the dedicated coaches and managers whose unwavering support and encouragement have made a world of difference. He also gave thanks to the parents who have been the team’s biggest supporters.

“Your dedication means everything to us. My team and I appreciate each and every one of you. Together, we stand strong as one rugby community,” he said.

The season is now done, however, some teams will play at home against Pretoria Harlequins on October 5.

• U12 Toti 14–17 Ballito
• U13 Orange Toti 24–7 Crusaders
• U13 Black Toti 24–17 Ballito
• U15 Orange Toti 15–12 Pietermaritzburg
• U15 Black Toti 10–0 Ballito
• U16 Toti 0–43 Crusaders
