The police station’s communications officer, Constable Donald Naidoo, said police attended a crime scene on August 23, at 22:20, at the informal settlement on Silvergull Drive.

“On arrival, members noticed the victim, a black man in his late 30s, lying on the ground. He was wearing a white and blue striped shirt, blue jeans, grey blazer and brown boots. Upon preliminary investigation, members of the community heard two gunshots and heard a car speed off. It was too dark to identify the type and make of the vehicle. It is believed the victim was an e-hailing taxi operator,” he said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is requested to call the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Teenage Cikwayo, on 071 198 9567 or Crime Stop on 086 001 0111.
