Spread joy to Amanzimtoti crime-fighters

Each year, Reena Solomon spearheads a Christmas Gift Appeal fundraiser for the CCPO's supervisors, guards and foot patrollers to gift them something special as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication to fighting crime.

THE CCPO Christmas Gift Appeal is underway to make the festive season special for the hardworking supervisors, guards and foot patrollers who keep Amanzimtoti safe.

For the past 10 years, community member Reena Solomon has asked the community to assist in making Christmas extra special for those who put their lives on the line to protect others.

“These dedicated individuals work long hours, come rain or shine, ensuring the community’s safety and security. They work 12-hour shifts, sacrificing their own time to protect others, often only having eight hours at home to rest and spend quality time with their families before their next shift,” she said.

This appeal aims to provide each CCPO member with a Galleria Mall shopping gift card as a token of gratitude and appreciation. “The community’s generosity will allow these dedicated workers to treat their families to something extra special this Christmas, acknowledging their tireless efforts and commitment,” said Reena.

Although Christmas is still months away, she started the appeal early again this year to allow the community to contribute gradually rather than with one lump sum.

Generous donations have already been coming in from businesses and individuals.

Donations can be made to the following bank account: Nedbank, Current account number: 1306094763, Branch code:198765, Reference: Name and Christmas. Email proof of deposit to reenasol@mweb.co.za so that a record of all contributions can be kept.

“It’s been a tough time for everyone, but if you can, please consider making even the smallest donation. Every contribution counts, and all donations received will go towards purchasing the gift cards,” said Reena.
