Twini Primary receives community support after library burns down

Many schools in the area came together in aid of Umbogintwini Primary School and donated books after its library burnt down.

UMBOGINTWINI Primary School has received overwhelming support since a fire destroyed the library, with book collections started to help restock it once repairs are complete.

According to a statement by the school, a fire tore through the library and one of the Grade 7 classrooms in the early hours of July 17, leaving nothing behind. No one was harmed. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

“The swift response from both the Prospecton and Amanzimtoti fire departments was instrumental in containing the blaze. We are immensely grateful for their efforts, along with the ET Rapid Response responders and community members who assisted them.”

As the staff come to terms with this heartbreaking event, they extend their heartfelt thanks to local schools and principals for their support and willingness to help in a time of need.

“We are also deeply appreciative of our community’s kind messages and support for the book drives to rebuild our library,” it read.
