Learners embark on clean-up at Karridene Beach

The team collected 20 bags of rubbish, along with ropes and electrical cable covers.

MORE than 120 Grade Seven learners from Laerskool Roodekrans participated in a beach clean-up at Karridene Beach, Illovo Beach, on July 10.

The learners were accompanied by members of Clean Surf Project (CSP) and teachers and tour guides from Outdoor Environmental Education Africa.

CSP’s Romy Wenzel said the team collected 20 bags of rubbish, along with ropes and electrical cable covers.

Laerskool Roodekrans’ Liam de Bruyn, Morgan Nortje, Arno van Wyk and Zaiden Maré pick up litter.

“The afternoon was not only productive but also filled with valuable exchanges about marine plastic pollution and the importance of keeping our seas and land litter-free,” she said.
