Two die in horrific N2 crash near Galleria Mall

A collision on the N2 southbound in Amanzimtoti has left two females dead and one person injured.

A HORRIFIC accident on the N2 southbound near Galleria Mall at about 11:30 today, July 6, has left two females dead and one injured.

According to ALS Paramedics’ spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, paramedics arrived on the scene to find carnage as two vehicles had collided on the national route.

“The one vehicle had been ripped open and paramedics found two females in the vehicle which had sustained major injuries. Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for them and they were declared deceased on the scene. One occupant from the second vehicle involved had sustained moderate injuries and was stabilised on the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that they required,” he said.

The traffic on the national route was severely affected while emergency personnel worked on the scene.

Jamieson said at this stage the events leading up to the crash are unknown, however, police and metro police were in attendance and will be investigating further.
