Lovu pastor honoured with PhD

Besides his honorary PhD Degree in Theology, Pastor Buthelezi also holds a diploma as a diesel mechanic and a Diploma in Road Transport Freight.

PASTOR Sthembiso Emmanuel Buthelezi said he felt humbled as an honorary PhD Degree in Theology was bestowed on him in Amanzimtoti on November 3.

Buthelezi has served as pastor of the Christian Apostolic Church in Zion in its Lovu branch since 2010, and the work he has done has seen the Vision of God Bible College award him an honorary doctorate.

He is married to Khululiwe Mildred Buthelezi and was born and raised in Umlazi B section where he grew up worshipping at St Augustine Church. He joined the Christian Apostolic Church in Zion in 1995, and he said that is when his relationship with God was affirmed and has continued to grow until today.

“I feel happy and honoured by this degree. From here onwards, I wish to help the community and our congregation to build a church to worship in because we already have a site. It will depend on whether we get donations to continue with that,” said Buthelezi.

The man of the cloth has always loved education as he has several qualifications under his priestly cincture, including a diploma as a diesel mechanic, and a Diploma in Road Transport Freight from the University of Johannesburg.

He attended the Holy Nation Bible College for two years before deciding to complete his studies with the Vision of God Bible College.
