Lower Illovo community comes together to assist the fight against drugs, cancer

An anti-drug campaign and Cuppa for Cansa fundraiser will be held this Sunday.

LOWER Illovo Neighbourhood Watch, together with Friends with Hope, will be hosting an anti-drug campaign and Cuppa for Cansa fundraiser on October 22.

The drug awareness programme takes place at Illovo Primary School hall from 12:00 to 14:00. The aim is to combat drug abuse in the area. Representatives of Refocus and Upliftment Foundation, Ishaam Thwala, Tishen Hooseria and Illovo’s Ruban Lachman, will be guest speakers. Entry is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served.

The fundraiser also takes place in the school hall, from 15:00 to 16:00. Entrance fee is R50 and includes snacks and beverages. All proceeds will go to the Cansa Foundation. There will also be lucky draw prizes. Guest speakers will be a representative from Cansa, Beena Singh and Illovo’s Janice Emanuel.
