The market is working with locals and surrounding crafters, where everyone in the community can get together and explore a world of traditional items, antiques, handmade crafts and much more.

The list of attractions include a Scottish band and bagpipes, traditional dancers and food from various cultures, entertainment for the children, a live DJ, a fashion parade, a motorcycle display, farm stalls and more.

The Heritage Crafts Market takes place this Saturday, September 23.

Ward 97 councillor André Beetge said they decided on The Square as it also hosts the Ndongeni Stone which commemorates Dick King’s assistant and the man after whom one of the streets was named.

“We trust residents will support our crafters and this multi-cultural event as we celebrate our rich heritage against the backdrop of the Springboks doing exceptionally well in the World Cup,” he said.

There is adequate security and safe undercover parking up the ramp off Commercial Road. The entrance fee is R10 and free to children under 10 years old.
