Brody in Charge, a fundraising campaign started by an Amanzimtoti family, was one of the winners.
His mother, Samantha van der Schyff, said, “We were given a total of 100 tickets. We still have 26 tickets available.”
Tickets for the Hollywood Walk of Fame: The Greatest Music from the Greatest Movies are R195. The show is on September 7 at 19:00.
Brody was diagnosed with a rare disease called CHARGE syndrome – which entails coloboma, heart defects, atresia choanae, growth retardation, genital abnormalities and ear abnormalities – when he was one and a half years old.
“He has undergone multiple major surgeries and has fought many life-threatening bacterial infections. Over the last six months, he has been living in absolute agony with skin infections, constant itching and severe abdominal pain,” said his mother.
