The founding director of the local counter-human-trafficking organisation, Estelle van Eeden, said, “It is our mission, together with the Isipingo SAPS social crime-prevention team, to protect and safeguard children from harm and crime through prevention and awareness.”

The learners were empowered to understand what bullying and cyberbullying are, how to identify safety networks and how to follow the reporting procedure.

Van Eeden said there is help, not only for the victims but for the bullies and witnesses, too. “We believe that addressing issues such as these is crucial in the fight to protect children from becoming vulnerable to child predators and exploitation,” she said.
