Support Sparrow Trust’s Blessing Bag Drive

In celebration of its fifth birthday, it wants to give back to those who open their homes to children in foster and safe care.

IN CELEBRATION of Sparrow Trust’s fifth birthday, it is appealing to the community to support its Blessing Bag Drive for those who open their homes to children in need.

In Amanzimtoti and surrounds, the counter-human trafficking organisation educates children, educators and caregivers with skills to navigate the online landscape responsibly through a series of workshops focusing on cyber safety, cyberbullying, online exploitation and human trafficking prevention.

It also works closely with other non-profit organisations, the Department of Community Safety and Liaison as well as the police.

The organisation’s founding director, Estelle van Eeden said, “Our drive, which runs from July through August in celebration of our fifth birthday, is aimed at honouring the men and women who lovingly open their homes to children in foster and safe care.”

The recipients of the ‘blessing bags’ are registered families that Sparrow Trust supports throughout the year. Van Eeden encourages community members to purchase one or two extra items on their shopping trip to donate towards our drive.
