Car show and sound-off moves to Amanzimtoti

The event this Saturday, which was supposed to be held at the Durban ICC, has been moved to Amanzimtoti.

IN WHAT is going to be a major booster to the Amanzimtoti economy, the MECA Africa Car Sound-Off and KwaZulu-Natal Foundation Car Show & Shine, which was to be held at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC), is coming into town.

The new venue is The Square at the CBD at 21 Commercial Road and everyone is welcome to enter free of charge. The show starts on Saturday, July 29 at 10:00, and will end on Sunday, July 30.
Organisers, MECA Africa and KwaZulu-Natal Foundation, said the ICC cancellation was due to unforeseen circumstances.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused as we understand that many of you were eagerly looking forward to attending the show at the Durban ICC. However, we are pleased to announce that we have found a new venue, and we will still ensure our competitors have a fair platform to play on,” read the statement.

Over 230 cars are confirmed to take part in the sound competition and members of the public can still register their cars on the day. Food and other trinkets will be on sale at the stalls. Vendors can contact Kerry Higham on 067 666 8752.

The Lions Club of Amanzimtoti will have a table and the public is welcome to make a donation which will go towards a number of charitable causes.
