Toti hosts cross-country league

The event drew runners of all ages from different clubs.

THE Amanzimtoti Athletics Club hosted the KwaZulu-Natal Athletics Cross Country League on Saturday, July 23, at Hutchison Park.

The well-attended event drew participants from clubs from far and wide, ranging from the age of seven to grand masters (60 to 74 years). Andrew Daly (66) who won the grand masters’ race, said although he was tired, he was happy for his achievement.

“It was a good race, and it makes me feel good to do the thing that I love. Congratulations to all other entrants,” said Daly, a member of the Chiltern Athletics Club.
Vernon Anley (67) of the Durban High School Old Boys’ Athletics Club came second, and Howick Athletic Club’s Andre Booysen (68) took the third spot.
