Toti Berea Community Police Sub-Forum hosts patroller braai

The annual 'bring 'n braai' lets the community interact with patrollers and fosters their involvement in the sub-forum.

TOTI Berea Community Police Sub-Forum recently held their annual ‘bring ‘n braai’ at Kuswag Skool to strengthen the bond between patrollers and the community.

The sub-forum’s chairperson, Gary Kelly, said, “Events like this are vital in demonstrating appreciation for the dedicated patrollers and acknowledging the support of the community. It also provides an excellent opportunity for the community to interact with the patrollers and foster their involvement in the Community Policing Forum (CPF).”

He said the event had a significant turnout, with members from both Toti Berea CPF and the greater Amanzimtoti community in attendance. The presence of ET Rapid Response and Blue Security further enhanced the overall safety and enjoyment of the occasion.

“The inclusion of entertainment, such as the Toti Hillbillies Line Dancing Exhibition and DJ Miklus’ music undoubtedly created a lively and festive atmosphere. We also express appreciation to ET Security for their sponsorship of the jumping castle, which brought joy to the children,” said Kelly.

He said he hopes this event will inspire other CPFs to organise similar gatherings to foster stronger relationships between patrollers and the community they serve.
