TWO suspects were arrested in Lamontville on May 18, and the stolen property was recovered after a house robbery in Isipingo.
PT Alarms spokesperson Dhevan Govindasamy said quick action from the police, PT Alarms Tactical Unit, and other security companies led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of two vehicles used to commit the robberies, as well as the stolen items.

“A high-speed chase ensued when the police’s suspicions confirmed that the Toyota Etios was discovered as a vehicle used in house robberies in Isipingo and Malvern. A grey Nissan Almera, a second suspects’ vehicle, joined the chase, as well. Both vehicles eventually split, and members continued following the Etios. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a house,” said Govindasamy.
The two suspects were arrested, and property from the house robbery was found in the vehicle. Govindasamy said the police then received information about the location of the grey Almera.
“The Almera was taken during the house robbery in Isipingo,” said Govindsamy.
The recovered items included two vehicles, two TV sets, four cellphones and one Mercedes Benz key fob.
