Christmas-gift appeal for guards kicks off

Help make Christmas extra special for the CCPO, ET Rapid Response and Blue Security guards who keep the community safe.

EVERY year, community member Reena Solomon asks the community to assist in making Christmas extra special for those who put their lives on the line to protect others.

Solomon, who started the appeal nine years ago, said she is thrilled that it has become so popular, that people have been asking when the CCPO (Community Crime Prevention Organisation), ET Rapid Response and Blue Security Christmas Gift Appeal was starting again.

“Well, it’s that time again. Help make Christmas extra special for the supervisors, response officers, street patrollers, guards and control room operators from the three security companies, who go the extra mile and work long hours. Come rain or shine, they keep our community safe and secure, and put their lives on the line for us 365/24/7,” she said.

Solomon said that even though Christmas is still months away, she started early again this year to make it easier for the community to contribute a little every month instead of one lump sum.

“While we will be spending time with our families over the festive season, it would be wonderful to be able to give them each a Galleria Mall shopping gift card as a token of our gratitude and appreciation, from us, the community, so that they can spoil their families with a little something extra this Christmas. Please don’t think that any amount is too small. Your donation will make a difference,” said Solomon.

Donations can be made into the following bank account, specifically opened for donations: Nedbank, account number: 1253793786, Branch code: 198765, Reference: name/Christmas.

Email proof of payment to reenasol@mweb.co.za, so she can keep a record of all donations received.
